Most of our Tangier departures are one-way routes toward Fes or Marrakech, which makes sense for travelers continuing their trip south by air. This one is built to bring you all the way back to where you started: the north, the imperial cities, the Sahara Desert, Marrakech and the Atlantic coast, in a single round trip that ends back in Tangier. It’s the itinerary we point ferry travelers toward when they want to see as much of the country as reasonably fits into ten days without needing a separate transfer back to Tangier at the end.

The route moves in one direction for most of the trip — south from Tangier through the imperial cities to the desert and Marrakech, then north again up the Atlantic coast through Essaouira, Casablanca and Rabat. Roughly half the days on this route involve several hours of driving, and the other half are anchored around a specific stop — Fes, the desert camp, Marrakech, or Essaouira. Both Fes and Marrakech get full dedicated sightseeing days rather than being folded into a driving leg, giving the trip two natural high points rather than a constant string of transfers.
