Errachidia doesn’t have much in the way of standalone tourist sights, but its airport is the closest to Merzouga and the Erg Chebbi dunes, which makes it a practical departure point for travelers who want to reach the Sahara Desert as directly as possible.
Our standard route from Errachidia follows the Ziz Valley — a scenic stretch of palm groves and kasbah villages in its own right — to Merzouga, where a camel trek leads into the dunes for an overnight desert camp before the return the next day.
Travelers with more time can also use this route as one leg of a longer trip, connecting onward to Fes or Marrakech rather than returning to Errachidia.
